It’s been roughly five months since this school year began. Roughly five months since this school year superseded the summer holidays, changing the everyday course of its students’ lives. As changes do not usually arrive on their own, this one is no exception, it also arrived accompanied by an interesting innovation, which is the subject of this article. I am, of course, talking about the twist in the format of this magazine. The transformation unfortunately took more time to accomplish than we had expected.
For those of you wondering about the reasons behind this shift, as well as what this will eventually mean, I would like to explain. A blog, compared to a unified issue of a magazine, comes with the advantage of higher time flexibility and more up-to-date information. Meaning, we should be able to post our articles almost right after the spark of an idea is transformed into written form. Furthermore, a blog gives us a wider platform to experiment with as well as the possibility of perhaps including multimedia content. After all, time will display the results.
Speaking of the other change . . . firstly, I would like to express gratitude towards the ±former What’s up writers that left our school at the end of May (Even though, it does not necessarily imply they won’t contribute to What’s Up anymore) and to thank them for their substantial contribution. In addition, the beginning of a new year also prompted a couple of new writers to consider starting their “career” in What’s Up. Hence, I would like to introduce our renewed team.
